CELL SPECIALIZATION & ORGAN SYSTEM
Elmer Chavez and Kevin Baquiax
Types of cells affected:
Leukemia affects white blood cells called lymphocytes. Myelogenous leukemia affects the other type of cells that normally become granulocytes, red blood cells, or platelets.
Types of tissues affected:
Both children and adults can be diagnosed with this cancer, which causes our bone marrow to produce abnormal white blood cells.
Types of Organs affected:
Leukemia starts in the soft, inner part of the bones (bone marrow), but often moves quickly into the blood. It can then spread to other parts of the body, such as the lymph nodes, spleen, liver, central nervous system and other organs.
Organ System affected:
Leukemia affects the Central Nervous System. Disturbances of the mental status as lethargy, disorientation, delirium, stupor and coma are common signs. It then goes to facial paralysis, diplopia, ptosis and anisocoria.
Cells,Tissue and Organs in Central Nervous System:
The cells in the Central Nervous System is Neurons and Glial Cells. The nervous tissue and the Brain make up the Central Nervous System. Two organs that are part of the Central Nervous System are the Brain and the Spinal Cord.

(Normal blood) Many red blood cells bunched together, normal amounts of Monocyte, Neutrophil, Erythocytes, and Platelets.
(Leukemia) Very few blood cells and abnormal amounts of prolireration.
